Woody Plants
In vitro propagated material of woody trees, in contrast to seedlings, maintains selected qualities (stem form, forking, vein) in the plants.
These plants are especially interesting to forestry:
We also supply our hardened material to forest tree nurseries that handle these plants further according to the necessary requirements. According to production time please note our order time: we need your order in September (f.e. 2007) for delivery of hardened material in May of next year (2008). Nursery plants will be delivered in October (2008).
The trees from in vitro propagation are tested in certification trials at the moment. Our German ministry for agriculture gave the allowance to propagate them at the same time.

The Lower Saxony Forest Research Institute provided us with selected birch. They are propagated as silvaSelect® trees. They grow extremely fast and their stem form is very straight. We recommend to plant 400 to 600 plants per hectare. SilvaSelect® birch can be planted for example in afforestation.

Robinia is a very hard wood. It can be used for garden furniture. Used instead of tropical woods it also protects the tropical environment. The Institute for Forest Genetics and Forest Breeding near Berlin selected plus trees with straight stem form and good growth rates and established them as clones in in vitro-culture. |

The quality of ash in Europe will be investigated in a European research project. The three work packages will work on the ecology and genetics, the possibilities of micro propagation as well as marketing. The Institut für Pflanzenkultur takes part in work package 2 in the research on micro propagation and mycorrhiza fungi. |
